The LATSE Contemporary Tibetan Cultural Library is an active center for modern Tibetan cultural studies. The library is an 8,500 sf facility for 14,000 volumes including Tibetan, Western and Chinese books on topics related to Tibet. The design of LATSE fuses the abstract qualities of traditional Tibetan architecture with the technology, functionality and programmatic complexity of an advanced research library. Additional spaces include a rare books department, administration offices, and a multi-purpose seminar room.
