MBB Founding Partner Jeffrey Murphy is interviewed on the new geothermal plant for St. Patrick’s Cathedral, hailed as “an example of new environmental standards” in sustainable design. 

“The emissions-free heating and cooling system “has virtually no visible impact on the architecture of the Cathedral,” Murphy said, adding that the geothermal system “complemented our client’s sustainable agenda and interest in being good stewards of the earth.” The geothermal system reduces the Cathedral’s energy use by approximately 30%.
