MBB Designs Expansion of UVA Center for Politics

The expanded center will serve the university community with inclusive research and program space.

The University of Virginia’s Board of Visitors has approved MBB Architects’ schematic design for the renovation and expansion of the Center for Politics, a non-partisan institute housed in the historic Montesano house on UVA’s North Grounds. Complementing the original red-brick Georgian building, the new center will welcome students by day and host events and receptions in the evening. The two buildings will be connected by a glass passage and courtyard that provide an accessible, welcoming main entrance.

MBB worked closely with the University Architect and other stakeholders to design the building to serve the UVA community.
