MBB is pleased to announce that our sustainable work for St. Patrick’s Cathedral has been honored with a 2019 AIA COTE Top Ten Award! The COTE Top Ten program highlights projects that meet the AIA Committee on the Environment’s rigorous criteria for social, economic and ecological value. Our renovation of St. Patrick’s Cathedral achieved a 29% reduction in annual energy use by adding ten geothermal wells, new mechanical systems, structural glass and a tightened building envelope to reduce thermal losses. In addition to raising sustainability standards for the Cathedral, MBB preserved failing marble, stone, plasterwork and stained glass.
