A feature story in the June 2025 edition of The Architect’s Newspaper praises “light and internal transparency” in MBB’s design for the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.
The article by Anthony Paletta quotes Jeff Murphy, the MBB partner in charge of the LPC project, describing the project’s overall aim: “The LPC wanted to set a high bar for design in their own space.” MBB partner Sara Grant adds that the agency “wanted a space that was friendly, welcoming, and put the public at ease.”
Sarah Carroll, LPC commissioner and chair, told AN that the commission was “thrilled” with the results, adding, “The beautiful space, including a redesigned public hearing room and other meeting areas… highlights how New York’s historic buildings can be thoughtfully updated to meet modern needs.”
