
Taylor Aikin fuses design excellence with an unwavering commitment to advancing clients’ mission. Prioritizing achievable steps toward strategic goals, he delivers thoughtful and impactful architecture and planning solutions.
Taylor’s design leadership at MBB encompasses adaptive reuse and ground-up building projects as well as master planning studies rooted in client engagement and technical expertise. He has led the design of innovative higher education projects, art and maker spaces, contextually sensitive church and synagogue upgrades, and high-performance work environments. A skilled collaborator and facilitator, he helps institutions evaluate options and uncover new opportunities to address evolving needs and goals.
Taylor serves as Chair of the Board of Bricks & Mortals, a nonprofit that helps houses of worship leverage their real estate assets. He has also served on the AIANY Cultural Facilities Committee and on the Mayor’s Working Group for Faith-Based Affordable Housing Development, creating policy proposals to support NYC houses of worship through changes to the landmarking process and air rights transfers.
Taylor holds a Master of Architecture from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation, and a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture from the University of Colorado at Boulder. A frequent public speaker and moderator, his articles have been published in Faith and Form and Construction Specifier magazines. He joined MBB in 2015 and became a Partner in 2023.
